AGM Minutes and spring updates

We had a very well-attended AGM in January and lots of participation and great ideas for moving forward through 2024 and beyond.

Please find the minutes from last month’s AGM on our investor updates page. 

We have taken on board all of the feedback and are in the process of implementing a number of the suggestions from you, the investors.

In particular, we are delighted to announce that when the current investor discount finishes this month, we will be implementing a new long term discount scheme from the 1st March offering 10% discount on bills when dining with us on Wednesday or Thursday. Additional updates:

  • Our new spring menu will be rolled out next month
  • The events committee will be spearheaded by Dave Nichols and Peter Johnstone
  • We are in the process of sourcing a community notice board, Claire has placed a suggestion box on the bar so please do use to share views/ feedback 
  • Looking to source and advertise local produce including the new Titsey Brewery Ale “North Downs Gold”

Our new wood burner is now installed-if you have access to firewood ( or know anyone who does) we would greatly appreciate any donations to help with our heating costs. We are also happy to collect seasoned logs from people. 

We do have a second wood burner which we received from a benefactor that would be ideal for heating The Grain Store. The store is a great asset but has proved expensive to heat. We have had a quote of nearly £2,000 plus VAT and we were wondering if anyone would be prepared to assist with these costs? 

Finally, it is crucial that we boost turnover as much as we can in these final weeks of trading ahead of year end to bolster our cash position, so please make every effort to use the pub.

Let the Summer and Footy Commence…

Dear Investors and Friends
 
The garden is awash with colour, our decking is filled with cheerful chatter and the Grainstore is a perfect backdrop and undercover haven. So, with a heatwave currently underway and creative food options on offer, we will also be presenting alfresco viewing of the opening two England UEFA Euro games on a large outside screen.  

There will be plenty of drinking and dining options for everyone in the coming weeks!

Fausto and the kitchen team are serving our delicious Main Menu and Sunday Menu, with plenty of summer options that are perfect for alfresco dining. We have various seating options for you to meet up with family and friends and enjoy The Bull Inn’s summer vibes.  The rosé is on ice and the team are ready to make your visit both enjoyable and fun!

Come and cheer on England in their opening game against Croatia. Please reserve a table on the courtyard to view on the newly installed, external waterproof screen.  Live the dream with our Sunday Roasts and Bull Classics also available to accompany a chilled pint or glass of rosé… and, of course, the footy. Come on England!🍻.

UEFA Euro Football 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 & Vietvan
Next up, it’s England v. Scotland!  Once again, please make sure you reserve a table on the courtyard in order to view the game on the outdoor screen and this time, back by popular demand, Vietvan will be providing sustenance with their gorgeously fresh Vietnamese dishes, including new additions to their menu. 

You can of course choose not to watch the football and still enjoy Vietvan’s food in all other parts of the pub – indoor, outdoor or to take away from 12-9pm on Friday. 

Saturday 19th June @ 12-9pm
Vietvan Returns
Vietvan will be with us again on Saturday, from 12-9pm – eat in or take away. Pop down for a catch up with your friends and enjoy the chilled summer vibes in our lovely garden areas.
Please note our kitchen will be closed on both Friday 18th and Saturday 19th June, but you will be in safe hands with Nick, Tracy and the Vietvan team.

Sunday 20th June, 12-8pm
Father’s Day
Please reserve your table to treat the Dad(s) in your life and you and he/they won’t be disappointed with our famous Sunday Roast along with some added extras specially prepared by our kitchen team for the occasion.
