Meet the women with designs on The Bull!

We’re really excited to introduce you to the new interior designers who will be responsible for transforming Enterprising Limpsfield Ltd’s premises at The Bull – local design duo, Hannah Darrall and Kat Briggs, aka Design Twenty Five.

Hannah Darrall and Kat Briggs are residents of Oxted and Lingfield respectively. Having moved into the area from London relatively recently, they quickly fell in love with Limpsfield and The Bull Inn and were keen to be a part of the project.

With over twenty years professional experience between them, they specialise in creating beautiful, bespoke and timeless interiors, having a huge amount of experience designing prestigious private residences, luxury hotels, restaurants and award-winning retail design.

They spent six years working together at a leading interior design practice in Chelsea and both moved out to Surrey at the same time for a more family-friendly life. The two talented friends decided to set up practice together and having both recently completed extensive work on their own homes, both of which were numbered Twenty Five, a business name was born!

What made you move to the area?
Kat & Hannah: We both moved from London to Surrey for the beautiful open countryside, family life, local community and still with great connection to London for both work and leisure.

How did you find out about Enterprising Limpsfield Ltd?
Hannah: When I was looking to move to Oxted, my family and I regularly visited The Bull during our house search. We have continued to do so since moving to the area and we’re pleased it became our local pub. When we heard, through the local paper, that it was closing down we really wanted to help and invest to keep and transform our local pub.

What drew you to the project and why do you want to be a part of it?
Hannah: Apart from being a local investor, I wanted to share my years of experience to breathe new life into our much-loved pub. We are also very excited, from both a personal and business perspective, about the community direction it’s looking to take, with meeting spaces for local groups/enterprise and providing a creative, energetic and inclusive community hub.
Kat: Working on a local project is always a dream for a small company and how marvellous to design your own local!

What do you hope to bring to the business?
Kat & Hannah: We have a wealth of experience in commercial and residential interior design and know that creating a well-thought-out layout and interior scheme is crucial for future success. Being part of a project and developing ideas collaboratively that will help to make an existing or new business work well and be successful is what we love doing most.

What do you think is special about The Bull?
Kat: It has so much history and has evolved over time with a fantastic community.
Hannah: I have had many memorable days and evenings at The Bull and have always loved its friendly, inviting ambience.

What are your initial thoughts on the interior design for the building?
Kat & Hannah: We’re keen to open up the sightlines, creating a warm and friendly environment that uses an eclectic mix of furniture and materials to create a timeless look and feel. The furniture pieces should look at home and as if they had always belonged to The Bull and we will be working with the existing architectural features to freshen the space.
There will be areas of lounge, dining and private dining as well as the all-important bar, so there’s something for all customers and occasions.

Kat and Hannah are currently working with the project management team and Board on the exciting new interior designs for Enterprising Limpsfield at The Bull and we look forward to sharing them with you soon… Keep an eye on the website and our social media for updates.
