It’s getting quite exciting at The Bull! We’re making fantastic progress with the refurbishment: We’ve started updating all the electrics, ordered the new professional kitchen, commissioned some new furniture as well as begun restoration and upholstering of some handpicked vintage items. The new ‘Bull’ branding and website, including an industry-leading online booking system is also well underway.
No more spaghetti junction!
With a focus on bringing everything up to standard, our technical bods have been very busy re-wiring and upgrading the electrical systems and cables – replacing the old “spaghetti junction” with a highly organised upgrade that will allow the management team to run a ‘back of house’ system (EPOS), security, stock control and booking facility, as well as ‘front of house’ network wifi for our customers! We know this is very important!
Great response to our recruitment campaign
Following advertisements placed in The Caterer for the key positions of General Manager, Head Chef and Front of House / Events Manager, we have been really pleased with the number and quality of applications received and have started the process of shortlisting and interviewing prospective candidates from a pool of nearly 100 applicants!
We are very confident, given the level of applications, that we will soon have a brilliant team on board who share our vision. Watch this space!
A Safe Pair of Hands
Many of you will know that Jason Goddard, of Toast and The Deli has been instrumental as project manager, helping us to get Enterprising Limpsfield and running, doing an amazing job mobilising and project managing a very full and busy plan to ensure that we hit deadlines and include all elements towards becoming operational.
We are now excited to welcome David Borley to the team. David will be acting as a consultant as the project develops, to ensure that we ‘leave no stone unturned’ in the process.
As a licensee and General Manager of two pubs in Reigate for the last seven years, he has a wealth of experience and we welcome his invaluable knowledge and direction in helping us expedite the final stages in the crucial lead-up to launch.
His current focus is ensuring that the condition of the cellar provides the optimum environment to house our selection of beverages and to ensure that we enlist the right partner to keep our equipment clean, serviced and of a standard to deliver the best quality beer, ales and lagers from the pump.
Working on the wine list
Many of our investors volunteered for the hard job of joining our wine tasting events! We have been analysing scoring and feedback and working with suppliers to develop an exciting and hopefully unique wine list.
This is a very exciting time as we want The Bull to be known for great quality yet affordable wines. It is important that at this stage of our journey we establish good relationships with leading local suppliers that we can rely on and who will provide a responsive and reliable service – ensuring value for money for our customers.
Last call for investors!
As a final push towards our final target, we’re issuing a “last call” for investors. We’ve only got a small amount of our stretch target left to achieve and would love to secure this all-important last piece of the investment now, in order to have all works fully finished prior to launch, meaning we can limit any disruption once The Bull is finally launched and trading.
So if you or anyone you know are interested in being part of this project and owning a slice of this exciting business, then now’s the time come on board! EIS investment close is w/c 17th September 2018.
Until next time!
